Christmas 2022, as I was getting ready for a party and struggling to blowout my hair, I had a visual download—an idea for a hair dryer attachment that could make my blowout more efficient. The next day, I went to a beauty supply store, grabbed several items, and ended up using dental floss to attach a silicon scalp massager to my hair dryer barrel. My first prototype was crude but it worked.
With rough sketches in hand, I worked with a designer to refine the concept. The journey wasn't easy—our first 3-D printer sample broke immediately. But I didn't give up. By late 2023, I found the right manufacturer who shared my vision, and together we perfected the design.
Now DrySpike is ready to help make styling easier for everyone. From a makeshift prototype with dental floss to the product we have today, it's been quite a journey—and we're just getting started.
